The Position
The project manager will implement IT projects within business applications and IT infrastructure to support the business in the Novo Nordisk Lexington, Massachusetts site in close collaboration with global partners, business partners and IT.
This position will work across Novo Nordisk departments and locations, managing projects benefitting various functions such as Research, Early Development, Clinical Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Facilities, IT, and others.
Projects may entail implementing new commercial off-the-shelf platforms. custom developed solutions, introducing process improvements, accommodating functional and user base expansions, platform migrations, new or updated integrations, platform decommissions, and others.
The role performs a critical function in the important expansion of Novo Nordisk into the US East Coast.
Relationships
Reports to Head of IT in Boston at in Boston/Lexington Campus.
Internal relationships include Novo Nordisk R&D sites in the North American region (Including Boston area sites, Seattle, Fremont, and Boulder.) employees, lab and scientific research groups, facilities, DDIT RED and broader DDIT organization.
External service providers include among others, service providers for scientific, process & manufacturing applications; Legal, audit and compliance representatives from Novo Nordisk; Novo IT groups for infrastructure, network, security, application, and user related activities. Novo IT for coordination on the corporate platforms rolled-out at Research Centers.
Essential Functions
- Project Management:
- Initiate new business and IT projects
- Planning and coordination of the project deliverables and project team on a day-to-day basis, and act as the central resource for team communication
- Lead project scope and deliverables definition in concert with project champion and key stakeholders
- Accountable for the documentation, communication, and mitigation strategy development for risks to schedule, scope, resources, budget, and quality. In coordination with project champion, conducts start-up meeting with project team to identify roles and responsibilities
- Manage projects – experience and ability to use both waterfall and SAFE agile methodologies:
- From Idea phase to Realize phase according to ITPMM (waterfall)
- According to the scale agile framework (SAFE) to provide fast value for the business
- Ensure the projects are aligned with relevant IT Security requirements, as well as business requirements
- Ensure projects progress according to project schedule, scope and budget
- Mitigate or minimize business and system risk
- Manage interdependencies between the project and other initiatives
- Project resource planning, including participation in recruitment of internal and external participants for projects in program
- Responsible for direction setting in project and securing productive working climate in the project
- Design and execute efficient change management
- Manages small to mid-size projects containing some complexity and global/senior stakeholder management requirements
