Principal Associate, Process Manager

 The People, Products, and Data’s (PP&D) organization, within the Human Resources Line-of-Business (LoB), is seeking a talented Process Manager Principal Associate to join its Data Governance Team. The Data Governance (DG) Team is primarily responsible for ensuring that HR data, including External Data Shares (XDSs), stay Well-Managed and complies with the various Data Policies, Standards, and Procedures (PSPs) that Capital One has in place by partnering with key stakeholders, such as other HR Experiences Teams and People Technology. 

The Process Manager Principal Associate will play a pivotal role in delivering HR Data processes and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), which will help Capital One mitigate risks in both the Data Management and External Data Shares spaces. This also includes Data Audit remediation work, when the occasion rises.

General Responsibilities: 

  • Acquire and build Data Governance & Management knowledge 

  • Acquire knowledge about each of HR’s Data Domains/ Experience Teams and their data landscape 

  • Lead and own oversight of process improvement work and collaborate with teammates on larger initiatives 

  • Document key DG processes by creating and maintaining Procedures/ Job Aids to ensure Business Continuity 

  • Support Enterprise and LoB-level Audit remediation work related to HR data

  • Partner with Risk and various 1st and 2nd-line Oversight Teams to support joint-initiatives 

  • Partner with People Technology to identify automation opportunities and support data tool migration efforts in partnership with another PA on the Team 

  • Support HR’s Performing Data Stewards, who serve as Data Subject-Matter Experts (SMEs) for each of HR’s Experience Teams (e.g., Total Rewards, Compensation, Benefits, etc.) by learning how to register data and create Permits to account for External Data Shares 

  • Contribute presentation material and support the Process Manager in leading the Monthly PDS Task Force 

  • Help draft and test Data Controls to mitigate process risks 

  • Act as subject SME to effectively partner with project customers to achieve desired outcome or improvement by acquiring requirements 

  • Support Onboarding/ ADS (Additional Data Sources) work into HR’s main data repository, People Data Platform (PDP), as needed 

  • Monitor HR’s Metadata Data Quality (DQ) metrics and support remediation of any issues or elevated metrics 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification 

  • At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office or G Suite 

  • At least 2 years of process management experience 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience 

  • Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, Business Process Management, or Project Management certification  

  • At least 1 year of experience in Data Governance or Risk Management  

  • At least 3 years of experience in Process Management
