Sr. Radar Signal Processing Engineer

Highlights:

• In this project, you will help support development of standoff sensor systems to find threat objects before they can cause harm. The system will help solve an urgent need to protect US military and civilian personnel abroad and at home.
• You will be part of a dynamic team of engineers, scientists and programmers. You will work with one of the nation’s premier laboratories alongside top-notch talent from the civilian, contractor and military sectors, and you will have access to advanced test equipment and analysis software.
• In this project, you will help develop and test systems that provide advanced RF sensing for standoff detection of threats. Your work will advance the state of the art and address real-world problems.
• By applying your hands-on knowledge of radar systems, signal processing and hardware/software integration, you will play a direct role in transitioning this technology from the laboratory to the battlefield.
• In this role, you will build your strengths in radar system development, system design and hardware/software integration. You will be exposed to new analysis tools, test equipment and test methods.  Each day will present a new opportunity to learn and grow.  Professional development is encouraged and expected at I-3.

 

Typical Day:

A typical day will be spent in the office and lab, involving a wide variety of activities such as design and analysis, testing and evaluation of software/hardware systems, customer meetings and design review meetings. 

 

Tasks:

• Provide technical services in support of a customer program.
• Develop and refine active and passive RF sensing systems.
• Contribute to technical briefings and reports.
• Participate in field tests when appropriate.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (or expected within six months), with a focus in radar systems.
• Experience in the processing of radar data
• Experience in modeling/simulation of radar geometries
• Experience testing radar hardware systems.
• Must be able to provide in-person field test support.
• Must have experience testing functionality of UAV- and ground vehicle-mounted imaging radars in laboratory and field test environments.

 

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with wirelessly synchronized imaging radars.
• Experience with RF Design, Antenna Design, Radar Imaging, Signal Processing, Ansys HFSS, AWR, COMSOL, RF PCB Design, MATLAB, Python, C, C++.

 

Position Type Shift Information:

• 8 hour work day

 

US Citizenship: US citizenship required.

Clearance: Must be able to obtain Secret clearance.

Location: Hybrid- Adelphi, MD with telework.
