The Opportunity 

We have an opportunity for the role of Senior Financial Analyst within our Diagnostics- Transfusion Medicine division based in Lake County.

This position is within our Transfusion Medicine division supporting Manufacturing Operation, within the site finance team primarily responsible for leading the annual standard setting process as well as the planning, reporting and analysis of Inventory, Inventory Reserves, PPV, Capital Expenditures, Financial Audit support, Balance Sheet planning and new product line financial start-up.

WHAT YOU DO

  • Annual Standard Setting Process:
    • Lead the annual standard-setting process for Lake County Site's manufactured parts.
    • Partner with operating personnel to prepare the standard setting.
    • Manage due dates, coordinate cost rolls, analyze cost changes, and submit standard costs to the division.
  • Inventory and Capital Management:
    • Oversee all activities related to inventory, inventory reserve management, and capital planning.
    • Manage purchase price variance reporting, audit support, commentary, and develop forecasts for rLBEs.
  • Capital Spending:
    • Partner with the Site Engineering team to lead discussions on the annual capital spending budget.
    • Report actuals and forecast changes to capital spending.
  • Cross-Functional Support:
    • Develop partnerships with site functions, including Supply Chain, Operations, Site Quality, and Engineering.
    • Support the business by initiating and implementing process improvements across departments.
    • Develop recommendations, propose and implement solutions considering business considerations, analyze and interpret data, and support team objectives.
  • New Product Line Financial Structure:
    • Collaborate with site functions to develop the financial structure for new product lines.
    • Gain approval for the structure across site functions and implement it across financial systems.
  • Compliance and Internal Controls:
    • Maintain proper internal controls and ensure compliance with Abbott policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required:

  • Associate degree.
  • At least 4 years of experience in the relevant field.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; MBA, CPA, or CMA is a plus.
  • 4-6 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, with cost experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and SAP; solid accounting foundation.
  • Ability to communicate across management levels and functions.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to communicate with varying levels of management and cross-functionally with Lake County site operations, supply chain, planning, and materials management.
