JOB SUMMARY
The Cashier is the point of contact for taxpayers seeking to make payments on their accounts. They are primarily responsible for accepting tax payments. Daily contact involves communication with taxpayers and other agency staff via phone calls, electronic communications, and walk-up windows.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handling cash and various payment transactions
- Maintaining cash register receipts and transaction paperwork for each taxpayer
- Issuing, verifying, and maintaining inventory
- Balancing currency and coin in cash drawers at the end of the shift
- Monitoring email box and answering banking line to assist taxpayers with payment information.
- Contacting taxpayers for failed ACH payments
- Processes COP/MFF/AVI/AVM requests for stamps and decals
- Perform daily deposit reconciliation, identify and resolve any outages
- Reviewing and filing daily reports from banking institutions and tax system
- Tests scenarios for system changes, service packs and upgrades
- Other similar duties as assigned
