JOB SUMMARY: The Accountant I will play a vital role in the financial operations of the organization. The full-time on-site position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to effectively communicate financial information. This person will oversee the end-to-end process of accounts payable to maintain the company’s financial obligations and compliance. The Accountant I will work closely with the finance team, performing various accounting tasks to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).

- Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate and if required.
GENERAL SKILLS:
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing which includes using proper email skills and etiquette.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.

- Occasionally within shift (1-33%): Sitting, Climbing, Twist at waist, Lift/Carry > 50 lbs. with assistance, Reaching above shoulder.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
- Oversee the full accounts payable cycle – invoice receipt, processing, verification, and reconciliation.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and vendor payments (including ACH transactions and check runs) while maintaining strong vendor partnerships and optimizing cash flow.
- Develop and maintain AP policies and procedures in line with GAAP, GASB and organization standards.
