Examples of duties
Under the direction of the Chief Fiscal Officer (CFO), this position manages the 49th State Angel Fund (49SAF), a $13.2 million U.S. Department of Treasury award under the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) to the Municipality to invest in Anchorage start-up companies, and its subsequent investment returns. 49SAF goals are: provide an evergreen source of capital to high-growth businesses to promote entrepreneurship and foster innovation, creating jobs and economic benefit; strengthen Alaska's risk capital and entrepreneurial ecosystem; assist early stage and disadvantaged businesses. Responsibilities include: develop and communicate policies, procedures, goals, eligibility standards, and evaluation criteria; conduct due diligence, in compliance with SSBCI requirements, economic viability of investment, financial statement and market analysis; educate Anchorage via presentations and entrepreneurial ecosystem events and partnerships; manage the application process; engage with Advisory Committee and coordinate materials for review and host quarterly meetings; manage portfolio of investments, including interfacing with founders and partner fund managers; conceptualize new investment fund(s). This position also administers the Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy & Resiliency (C-PACER), an energy efficiency and resiliency financing program for commercial real estate projectsQualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and nine (9) years of experience conducting research, investigations, litigation, report writing, program management, and/or program support.
OR
Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting or a similar discipline and seven (7) years of experience conducting research, investigations, litigation, report writing, program management, and/or program support.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, Accounting or a similar discipline and five (5) years of experience conducting research, investigations, litigation, report writing, program management, and/or program support.
OR
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting or a similar discipline and three (3) years of experience conducting research, investigations, litigation, report writing, program management, and/or program support.
Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire.
Valid State of Alaska Driver’s License and satisfactory Driving Record at time of hire.
