***This position will be filled as an IT Specialist II, Sr or IT Consultant depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience***

Job Summary/Purpose

This position is primarily responsible for tracking and evaluating IT hardware asset management (HAM) activities, including generating reports, analyzing Entergy’s IT hardware landscape and support models, identifying continuous improvement opportunities, and capturing savings opportunities.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Report on hardware assets and hardware support periodically.
  • Identify potential cost savings in hardware purchases and support contracts.
  • Support negotiations for and renewals of hardware and software support contracts.
  • Work with the CMDB team to collect data for hardware inventory development, audits, and reconciliations.
  • Verify asset decommissioning.
  • Own Entergy’s relationships with certain key hardware vendors and support providers.
  • Work with ServiceNow support teams and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve issues with asset discovery and integrations between HAM tools and other systems.
  • Support software asset management activities as needed, including license data gathering, software renewals, contract and support analysis, reporting, and compliance reporting.
  • Monitors, maintains, and enforces asset and asset support standards, policies, and procedures throughout the hardware lifecycle.
  • Creates, monitors, and reconciles inventories of in-scope IT hardware.
  • Develops HAM best practices to optimize Entergy’s hardware inventory and support landscape.
  • Owns, refines, and matures Entergy’s HAM program and roadmap.
  • Proactively tracks and manages all in-scope IT hardware, including support levels, support contracts, and refresh forecast in collaboration with IT and other Entergy stakeholders.
  • Use and interpret HAM tools, including ServiceNow and vendor portals.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education and experience required of the position

IT Specialist II: Bachelors degree in business or technical field and 2+ years of relevant experience are required. In lieu of a degree, 6+ years of relevant experience is required.

IT Specialist Sr: Bachelors degree in business or technical field and 4+ years of relevant experience are required. In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of relevant experience is required.

IT Consultant: Bachelors degree in business or technical field and 6+ years of relevant experience are required. In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of relevant experience is required.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & SharePoint.
  • Project and time management skills sufficient to coordinate and complete complex tasks without much oversight.
  • Strong verbal & written communications.
  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally and between organizations to identify objectives and drive to completion.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills with an emphasis on analyzing data to uncover savings opportunities and reporting results.
  • Basic understanding of the types of IT hardware, including desktop computers, servers, network gear, telephony equipment, etc.

 Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Experience working in ServiceNow.
  • Experience using Flexera or other industry-standard SAM/HAM tools.
  • Experience building Microsoft Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Regulatory compliance (SOX/NERC/CIP/NRC/etc.) experience is a plus.
  • Experience with vendor relationship management with multiple vendors and services providers is a plus.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position

  • CITAM, CHAMP, CAMP or similar certification is a plus.
  • ITIL v4 Certification is a plus.
