Senior Business Credit Associate

Promotes First Commonwealth’s asset quality through unbiased, accurate, thorough and timely risk assessment which is accomplished by analyzing financial statements and related credit data. Prepares organized and comprehensive reports which assess the credit-worthiness of a loan request and provide the appropriate authority with the necessary information to make an informed lending decision. Prepares organized and comprehensive reports for existing loan relationships which assess the continued credit-worthiness of the client.
Essential Job Responsibilities_________________________________
1. Performs tasks for the credit analysis process.
a. Conducts credit investigations and analyzes credit information pertaining to loans.
b. Breaks down the balance sheet and income statement accounts; analyzes the results and compares the current financial results to the prior financial periods.
c. Prepares reports to summarize analysis of borrowers’ financial condition and capacity to repay debt. Prepares new loan request submissions and reviews on Credits from $500,000 to $ $3,000,000
d. Demonstrate the ability to work of New Money Requests as well as perform Portfolio Management duties.
e. Prepares projections on income, sales, expenses and net worth of the client with the credit report or for a request by the lender or management.
f. Assesses values collateral when necessary, reviews appraisals and assesses collateral coverage.
g. Assigns Risk Ratings.
h. Follows assigned portfolio or accounts for updated financial statements or other relevant information to assess borrower credit quality through the quarterly triage process.
i. Recommend to the loan officer additional information relevant to providing a quality Credit Memo.
j. Participates or assists in projects or tasks necessary for the Credit Administration function.
k. Ensures that all credit analysis activities are conducted in accordance with prescribed lending policy.
2. Achieves goals assigned to the Business Credit Associate as part of the department’s annual operating plan.
3. Adheres to the Business Credit department’s Service Level Agreement with the Commercial Services.
4. Partners with the lending staff in joint calling effort in support of new and existing relationships.
5. Builds knowledge of commercial lending and banking regulations, procedures, and operations.
6. Effectively utilizes up to $500,000 in lending authority to render individual credit decisions for pass credits.
Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications___________________________
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/ Economics or a related field of study with a minimum GPA of 3.0, or equivalent experience required. Specialized financial analysis training preferred.
2. Ability to analyze financial statement data and distill conclusions is required.
3. Must have a working knowledge of accounting and financial analysis techniques.
4. Must have ability to use Microsoft Office programs and banking software.
5. Proficient reading, writing, and grammar skills are required, as well as solid communication and interpersonal relations skills.
6. May be eligible for Telecommuting.
