Job Description:

Responsibilities
The Health Program Coordinator will work within the Center for Environmental Health’s (CEH) Outreach and Education Group and will contribute to and/or coordinate tasks related to the Hudson River Fish Advisory Outreach Project, Environmental Public Health Tracking and Building Resilience Against Climate Effects. The incumbent will also contribute to creating outreach and communication deliverables for related programs. The Health Program Coordinator will work closely with Center for Environmental Health project teams and community stakeholders to contribute to identifying and maintaining partnerships, contribute to the development and evaluation of outreach materials and strategies, coordinate events, collect data, and maintain outreach databases and program tracking tools. The Health Program Coordinator will help staff outreach events to provide anglers with information about the health risks and benefits of eating locally caught fish, support the Hudson River signage program, and contribute to developing maps for the Fish Advisory mapping program. The position involves travel, and evening and weekend work.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in public health, health education or promotion, environmental science, a related social science or related field, and two years of experience contributing to the coordination of program activities in a public health, health, health regulatory, or human services related program; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and four years of such experience; OR six years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.


Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Access database software, Adobe Creative Suites and GIS mapping applications. Experience with video editing and coordinating teams in the creation of outreach materials. Experience with health promotion, public health or environmental health programs. Experience working directly with community stakeholders.

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel 25-50% of the time is required. A valid driver’s license in good standing is required for travel to areas not served by public transportation.

This position requires occasional work on weekends, after-hours, and holidays.

The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with a combination of onsite and remote work.
