Maintenance Technician

The British International School of Houston is seeking to hire a Maintenance Technician to assist our Facilities Department. The position ensures day-to-day upkeep, maintenance and smooth operation of the building and campus.

About this Role

Operational Expertise (Job Duties include but are not limited to the following)

• Work safely and follow school’s safety protocol
• Provides quality service with attention to detail.
• Performs general repairs
• Moves heavy furniture, equipment and supplies.
• Ensure Campus is maintained to high standard at all times.
• Notifies managers about the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Sets up, arranges and removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders and scaffolding to prepare facilities for special events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Adapts working style and pace to changing conditions.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in commercial maintenance or proven experience in a hands on mechanical setting.
• Knowledge of HVAC commercial units
• Knowledge of OSAH regulations
• Solid understanding of technical aspects of mechanical, structural, plumbing and electrical systems with the ability to trouble shoot.
• Must be familiar with power tools and safety.
• Ability to kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, reach and lift/carry up to 40 lbs.
