As the Director of Custodial Services you will report to the Executive Director of Facility Services, be a part of the Facilities Division team and a district leader in environmentally friendly business practices. You will help to lead Custodial Services transformational work to deliver on the promises outlined in both Transform Learning. Transform Lives. as well as our long-term, city-wide North Star, Vision 2025.
As the leader of the Custodial Services department, you will:
- Support the implementation of strategies to grow an inclusive and diverse workforce that values all employees
- Design, implement and regularly evaluate “green” custodial practices
- Improve business processes to strengthen customer service
- Implement a strong talent strategy from entry to exit for a team of 300
Examples of essential duties
- Oversight and management of a custodial and supervisory staff of over 300 persons
- Implementation and documentation of regular training and safe work practices
- Implementation of employee evaluations, performance improvement plans and progressive discipline
- Support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and policies
- Preparation of scheduling and school site custodial staffing requirements and coordination with the SFUSD Department of Human Resources for the hiring of vacant staff positions
- Oversight of custodial spending budget, preparing reports, and assisting in annual budget development
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations regarding worker safety and use of toxic materials
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with labor representatives
- Coordination and reporting to the Executive Director of Facility Services, meetings with various public and community groups, and other presentations or participation in events as required

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S) from an accredited college or university; advanced degree preferred
- Four (4) years of professional-level experience managing subordinate management-level personnel
