Not RequiredCollins Aerospace is looking to hire a Manager, Supply Chain Management to support our Purchasing team in Lenexa, KS. In this role, you will have overall responsibility for the performance of the supply chain team for the Lenexa Oxygen business. We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Purchasing Manager to oversee the execution of purchasing activities within the supply chain organization. This role requires a hands-on leader who can establish, maintain, and develop a high-performing team that adheres to standard work processes, policies, and procedures. The successful candidate will ensure that purchasing operations are executed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with corporate standards, driving excellence across the procurement function. You will actively enable and coach your team to develop and bring forward data-driven recommendations, working at the right level of detail to guide resolution, improve performance, and keep production moving. You will balance near-term execution with longer-term improvements that strengthen supply chain performance and profitability.
This is an onsite role in Lenexa, KS and could have up to around 15-20% travel.
What You Will Do:
Execution of Purchasing Activities:
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end execution of purchasing activities, ensuring on-time delivery of quality goods and services.
- Implement and enforce standard work processes to streamline purchasing operations and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Monitor purchase orders, supplier performance, and contract compliance to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Build and maintain a high-performing team of purchasing professionals who are well-versed in standard work, policies, and procedures.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentorship to team members to ensure consistent adherence to established processes.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence within the team.
Policy and Procedure Compliance:
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with RTX corporate policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and government regulations.
- Regularly review and update internal processes to reflect changes in company policies or external requirements.
- Conduct periodic audits to assess compliance and address any gaps in execution or understanding.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable delivery of goods and services.
- Partner with suppliers to resolve issues, improve performance, and drive cost reduction initiatives.
- Clearly communicate RTX’s expectations and requirements to suppliers, emphasizing adherence to contractual terms and quality standards.
Metrics and Reporting:
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of purchasing activities.
- Analyze procurement data to identify trends, address issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare detailed reports on purchasing performance, compliance, and cost savings for senior leadership.
Risk Mitigation:
- Proactively identify and address potential supply chain risks, such as delays, quality issues, or cost overruns.
- Develop contingency plans to ensure business continuity and minimize disruptions to operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other teams to align purchasing strategies with organizational needs.
- Serve as a liaison between the supply chain function and other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
