Certified Medical Assistant (PT)

Description

  This position will be working between both of our clinics in Hickory, NC and Morganton, NC

• Obtaining and recording patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality. 
• Coordinating the daily administrative activities including scheduling, patient  check-in and checkout, and patient medical record maintenance. 
• Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assisting practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care.
• Delivering compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families. 
• Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA. 
• Preparing and administering medications for patients as directed by providers including blood draws and injections. 
• Maintain lab tests and QC Protocols for lab equipment.
• Communicate with referral sources.
• Complete Medication authorizations and medication refills.
• Efficient with Electronic Medical records.
• Submitting labs in house and outside facilities.
• Triage patient phone calls.      
• Routine lab medication maintenance for continuity of care.
• Medication Reconciliation. 

Requirements

· Completion  of an Associate degree or Certified Medical Assistant program (preferred)

· 1 year working in a medical office setting (preferred)

· Experience working with an Electronic Health Records

· Must be   at least 18 years of age, be able to read, write, understand, and   follow directions.

· Must be able to pass federal and state background verification.

· Knowledge of medical terms and codes, laws, ethics, practice, and malpractice specialties.
