About the role

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations like receiving, storing, and shipping goods, managing a team of material handlers, ensuring inventory accuracy, and enforcing safety protocols. This role reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct other warehouse associates in their day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Prioritize workload within the warehouse.
  • Maintain organized warehouse and identify and address all safety hazards within the work area; ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for employees and visitors.
  • Train new warehouse associates in material handling, identification, and system transactions.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and material handling between the warehouse and production facility
  • Assist in areas like shipping and receiving, unload trucks with forklift or crane, check in orders, match purchase orders.  
  • Accurately stock material physically and systematically into proper warehouse staging locations.
  • Read and accurately transact customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Record material or items received using the appropriate database.
  • Document purchase orders, part numbers, and projects on all incoming/ outgoing items. 
  • Communicates with cross functional teams to drive process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist team members in recording labor to time sheets into company ERP system.
  • Communicate with production on inventory/material needed for each job.
  • Prepare all ship loose items with proper documentation for shipments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma
  • 3+ years of related factory experience and/or training
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must have previous forklift experience -certification preferred
  • Ability to perform freight handling duties with a manual pallet jack/forklift
  • Strong analytical skills and detail oriented.
  • Strong communication skills to work with warehouse employees, peers, leadership, and cross functional departments.
  • Ability to lead and motivate people and make decisions to achieve a goal.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate and oversee multiple work orders.
  • Commitment to the concept of continual improvement and safe work practices.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Physical fitness and strength to lift 30-50 lbs. regularly.
  • Regularly required to stand, bend, crouch and reach.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong listening and communication skills.
  • May be required to travel required (up to 10%)
  • Lead by example to include: demonstrates strong work ethic, can do attitude, great attendance, and excellent safety awareness.
