About the role

We're seeking someone to join our team as an Associate in the Loan Processor role to provide support within Home Loans Services, to coordinate and complete daily order services for a mortgage loan and ensure all applicable conditions related to title and insurance documents are in an acceptable status on a daily basis.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is a Professional position at the Associate level within Risk, Regulatory & Resilience, which performs various independent functions to ensure adequate controls are in place. We do this by providing an integrated risk and control framework to govern, assess, mitigate and manage financial and operational risk in Operations.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Execute processes/functions and/or support process management and project efforts, leveraging knowledge of the systems, markets and instruments that influence the team

  • Recognize risk in day-to-day processes to draw out the key issues and contribute to process improvements

  • Build relationships within team and internal stakeholders, sharing knowledge to contribute to team output

  • Participate in projects and initiatives, aiding in solution formulation with a focus on timely execution

  • Complete the order services process which includes requesting, reviewing, and verifying loan processing documents such as title and insurance

  • Clear loan processing conditions within the loan operating system which include insurance, collateral, disclosure, and title items

  • Review title and insurance documents and determine if they meet Morgan Stanley guidelines

  • Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external business partners for managing expectations, needed documentation and timelines regarding lender side conditions, e.g. title, appraisal, HOI

  • Monitor personal pipeline and work with Mortgage Specialist, and other pertinent internal partners to ensure loan cycle times meet client expectations

  • Monitor loan progress until loan is in closing to ensure documents are not expired-Demonstrate ability and drive work independently to creatively and proactively problem solve and execute at a high level

What you'll bring to the role: 
 

  • Ability to establish clear goals and priorities, and address non-standard issues within area of expertise with minimal guidance and supervision

  • Subject matter expertise in business area supported, client requirements, and ability to ensure control is not compromised to comply with client requests

  • Culture carrier across Operations, embracing the Firm's core values

  • 5 years of residential mortgage loan processing experience required

  • Proven track record in quality loan production while maintaining a large client base

  • Outstanding written, verbal, and analytical skills

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and plan; effective time management skills to meet loan closing deadlines

  • Must possess a superior customer service focus

  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office products suite

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
