POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is in the Bureau of Professional Development, reporting to the Bureau Chief. This is a full-time position that that plans, organizes, develops and facilitates analytical training across the state of Florida. These trainings would include the FDLE Core Analytical Training, Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Training, Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Academy and the Advanced Analyst Training Seminar. This position requires the ability to effectively interact with Senior Executives and Command Staff, comfortable with public speaking and the ability to network. The position also requires excellent facilitation and customer service skills.
Special Notes:
This is a full-time position that will have the option to work statewide. The incumbent in this position will be required to travel up to 25%. The incumbent must reside in the state of Florida.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Implementing plans for course delivery such that all logistics, contractual obligations, administrative requirements, course format and content, course materials, and instructors are finalized prior to the beginning date of each course;
- Coordinating with instructors on the timely and accurate grading of assignments and projects, as well as the creation and updating of rubrics used for grading purposes;
- Conducting periodic reviews of course curricula to ensure currency and relevancy to contemporary training needs, and making recommendations regarding curriculum changes;
- Participating in the conduct of ongoing needs assessments and recommending programs for overall training enhancements;
- Accurately and properly completing and organizing all course files and fiscal documents, in accordance with program and departmental policies and procedures;
- Grading all quizzes and tests, and compiling overall scores for students;
- Establishing relationships with state colleges and universities on obtaining college credit for analytical programs; and
- Establishing relationships with professional organizations and other law enforcement entities, outside of Florida, for further development of the program.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system;
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
- Knowledge of the principles of human behavior, learning and communication;
