Maintenance Mechanic

What You Will Do:  

·            Repair campus lighting, adjust and repair furniture, lay and repair flooring, and repair any plumbing issues to include the following: 5000 HP Gas Turbine Engine, 13KV Generator, 650 PSI Heat Reclaim Boiler, 150 PSI Boiler and other equipment found onsite.

·            Remove snow from the parking lot and ensure emergency exit paths are shoveled  

·            Inspect truck and snow equipment regularly  

·            Ensure the fitness center equipment is inspected for safety and perform repairs as needed  

·            Inspect the garage doors and perform repairs as needed  

·            Maintain campus signage  

·            Participate in continuous improvement of the Utility Maintenance program   

·            Ensure all data related to maintenance activities is correct and documented  

·            Communicate effectively with team members and internal customers  

·            Demonstrate a working knowledge of plant safety rules, safe working methods, and good housekeeping practices 

·            Other duties as assigned  

Position Details: 

·            Plant location: Naperville, IL  

·            Work week and shift: Must be able to work any of the three assigned shifts: Midnight to 8:30am, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, or 4:00pm to 12:30am. Work week is either Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday.

·            Compensation package offered: $34 / hr 

Minimum Qualifications:  

·            High School diploma or equivalent  

·            2 years of industrial experience with boilers plant setting in a maintenance, or operation with basic understanding of boilers and steam generation  

·            2 years of experience with troubleshooting, repair, and install pneumatic and hydraulic systems, control valves, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps  

·            No immigration sponsorship offered for this role   

Physical Demands:  

·            Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and climb ladders

·            Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check and physical exam 

Preferred Qualifications:  

·            Formal vocational training in plant maintenance activities with emphasis on industrial applications or equivalent job experience in electricity, power distribution, industrial electrical wiring, mechanics, machine operations, general plumbing, heating ventilation and air conditioning and/or boiler operations 

·            Experience in a Lean Environment
