General Summary: Serves as a representative of the mission and values of the College to the internal Agnes Scott community and to the public such as, but not limited to, high school visits, college fairs, and recruitment-related events. This position assists admission leadership in training and supporting the admission counseling team and the Enrollment Division. Reports to the Associate Director of Admission and works with Enrollment Division team members, prospective students and their supporters, high school guidance counselors, and campus partners in recruiting and yielding students to Agnes Scott College.
Essential Job Functions:
- Interprets college and admission policies and practices to students, parents, alumnae, staff and guidance counselors, in a variety of settings including evening information programs, high school visits, college fairs, and counselor meetings.
- Recruits prospective high school students and applicants from within an assigned segment and geographic territory, which will involve approximately 4 to 6 weeks of travel during the fall and/or spring depending on the recruitment territory.
- Conducts on-campus and off-campus interviews and information sessions to both large and small groups of prospective students, high school counselors, and other-admission related groups
- Evaluates candidates for admission and scholarships and counsels students through the full enrollment cycle.
- Assists with planning and execution of on-campus and off-campus admission events and recruitment and yield activities.
- Fulfills programmatic responsibilities assigned by admission leadership based on the needs of the admission office which includes operating within approved travel and program budgets.
- Utilizes office-wide CRM, Slate, to facilitate in managing relationships with prospective high school students and school counselors.
- Assists admission leadership in training, recruitment planning and management, and mentoring admission counseling staff.
- Manages student employees, including, but not limited to, admission student assistants and admission work study students
- Compiles extensive mid-year and annual reports and interprets relevant data.
- Develops and maintains knowledge of the College's academic and student-focused programs
- Develops and maintains expertise to conduct campus tours; goes through tour shadowing program; conducts tours whenever needed
REQUIREMENTS
Education: BA/BS in related occupational field of study.
Experience: 2-3 years work and/or internship experience in admission/enrollment management, or a related field with other employers.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Slate and/or other CRM experience preferred.
- Some ability to use G-Suite applications, Microsoft applications, and Canva.
- Highly motivated, results oriented and goal driven.
- Good judgment and the ability to work collegially as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability and willingness to work effectively in a workplace that values diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and to maintain confidentiality.
- Proven success working with a variety of people and personalities.
- Self-starter and able to multi-task with moderate supervision.
Other:
- Irregular evening and weekend hours, and overtime required on a regular basis, depending on events, projects and travel.
- SACAC and NACAC memberships provided upon hiring.
- Valid driver's license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, and occasional moving of light objects. Work is performed in an office with occasional travel.
