Salary:                                                           $35,000 - $38,000, commensurate with experience

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for providing a variety of administrative support functions to the DAC-IT team. These functions are IT-specific and include but are not limited to purchasing (preparing quotes, placing orders, etc.), preparing items for surplus, maintaining inventory, bookkeeping, or preparing correspondence, among other tasks. With training, this position may provide back-up support to Help Desk technicians.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree, or four years of technology-related clerical, administrative, secretarial, or general office work, with a preference for candidates having a background in computer science or related field. Experience may be substituted for education at the discretion of the Executive Coordinator.    

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required

  • Experience with inventory and purchasing systems strongly preferred

  • Experience with Workday, PeopleSoft, and Access preferred

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and coordinate complex logistics

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal staff, guests, and vendors

  • High level of accuracy in managing data, schedules, and important documents

  • Ability to identify and resolve routine conflicts and issues, and to provide information and explanations

  • Knowledge of spelling, punctuation, and business/technical terminology

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

  • Ability to perform confidential work and maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to interpret and complete routine matters according to agency policies and procedures

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, balancing on-demand support for issues as they arise with an orderly approach to non-emergent tasks

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with end users to convey understanding of an issue and what is being done to resolve it

  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and partners to facilitate IT purchases and projects, provide quotes, and track purchases

  • Retrieve, refurbish, restock, and surplus computers and IT equipment from workforce

  • Partner with team to maintain accurate asset and equipment inventory for each site

  • Assist with the installation/setup (“imaging”) of equipment and devices connected to managed networks

  • Maintain a professional and courteous dialogue with workforce members during investigation, resolution of issues, and follow-up communication

  • Participate in team meetings and standups

  • Providing documentation and updated user manual as needed

  • Utilize the helpdesk ticketing system as directed

Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with their hands and arms and perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust and focus, and the ability to see clearly at 20 feet or more.
