Description
Oversee and manage a team of field service technicians. Coordinate and schedule service operations to ensure efficient use of resources. Ensure quality service delivery and customer satisfaction. Develop and maintain effective workflow processes.
· Schedule and oversee all work done to our finished product in the field (including warranty related work, unit installation supervision, and miscellaneous field service requests).
· Manage personnel performance/merit, concerns, recognition, and career advancements for the Field Service Technicians.
· Procure the services of any local contractors needed for field service activities; and for maintaining the relationships and contractual scope understandings of such service providers.
· Analyze the needs for equipment, tools, rentals, etc. related to field service work.
· Report budget needs and related financial performance of the field service team.
· Work closely with the Project Managers to provide communications to our customer base on site activities, schedules, concerns, and remediations.
· Work closely with the PM/Engineering Coordinator on the booking and coordination of travel logistics for the field service team members.
· Train employees in new responsibilities and assist in production-related duties when needed or when not traveling.
· Interface with other shop supervisors, staff, production management, production supporting design engineers and management
· While at our facility, the Field Service Manager will primarily serve as a production quality function to ensure that we are meeting or exceeding the needs, expectations, and wants of our customers.
· This position has an estimated travel expectation of 25%-50%.
· Perform additional duties as requested.
Requirements
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in management, business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in field service management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and regulations.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing.
- Electrical experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills – ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, vendors, other departments, and customers.
- Desire to build strong team, coach and develop employees.
- Strong computer skills including use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and job cost/inventory control software systems.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret structural and electrical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of heavy steel fabrication, welding, sheet metal and industrial painting, electrical processes, rigging, and transportation.
- Proficiency in current processes used within the production environment.
