History:
Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years, but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20, and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Registered Nurse makes the initial evaluation assessment (SOC), regularly re-evaluates the patient's nursing needs, initiates the plan of care (485) and necessary revisions, provides those services requiring substantial and specialized nursing skill, initiates
appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures, prepares clinical and progress notes,coordinates services, informs the physician and other personnel of changes in the patient’s condition and needs, counsels the patient and family in meeting patient goals, participates in in-service programs and supervises and teaches other nursing personnel. The RN is directly responsible and reports at regular intervals to the Administrator/Director of Nursing/Agency Supervising Nurse or Designee.
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Knowledge of nursing theories and practices.
- Effective oral and written communications skills.
- Acceptance of philosophy and goals of this Agency.
- Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgement.
- Reliable transportation. Valid and current auto liability insurance.
Licenses/Certificates:
- Must have a license to practice professional nursing by the Texas Board of Nursing or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact.
- Current BLS required upon hire.
Experience:
- One (1) year experience as a Professional Registered Nurse prefer Home Health experience but not mandatory.
