Bartender for Independent Living!

Galloway Ridge is an upscale continuing care retirement community located between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro in Chatham County, NC. We are currently seeking a Full-time Bartender to join our team in Independent Living! The Bartender is responsible for preparing alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages for not only the bar but for all of the restaurants at Galloway Ridge. The Bartender interacts positively with residents, take orders, and serves a variety of drinks, food, and snacks. 

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•  Sets the bar, tables in the bar, back stock, moves inventory utilizing FIFO, and creates cocktail menus for restaurants, caterings, and bar. Clean all glassware, dishes, and distributes. Stock, restock, and rotate supplies related to the bar and to alcohol storage. Prepare garnishes for bar use and snack trays. 
• Welcomes residents and guests, listens to customers to determine preferences beverage, makes recommendations, and takes orders accurately. Answers pertinent questions about menu items in a gracious and courteous manner. Clear all tableware from tables and bar after service. 
• Maintain all documents necessary to accurately account for Resident and guest charges. Takes inventory twice weekly using a print out of the sales from the POS to enable an accurate beer, wine and liquor count. Orders within the guidelines for beer, wine, and liquor.
• Completes all assigned cleaning tasks. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
• Completes in-service training and educational sessions as assigned. 
• All other duties assigned include, but not limited to, enhancing the Resident Experience. 

Requirements

• Experience tending bar in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining. 
• Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers in a courteous and tactful manner. 
• Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code. 
• Knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks. 
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean.
