At a Glance
In collaboration with Senior Leadership, the Associate Director strategically leads a segment of the client relationship within that business unit and a team of 10 BDS Area Managers responsible for overseeing in-field solar representatives in large box retailers. This role will act as a subject matter expert and support the Senior Director in partnering directly with the client. Additionally, this role will support and guide the BDS Area Managers, ensuring they effectively listen, observe, coach, and train their in-field representatives to improve sales performance and customer experiences. The Associate Director role is crucial to achieving national sales goals and managing overall program execution while uncovering client expectations and providing solutions to exceed them. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Oversee a team of national Area Managers, providing top-level team leadership, development, and coaching, holding one-on-one sessions and regular field visits using the Peak Sales model to ensure they effectively manage their teams and succeed in their roles.
- Manage the interview, training, coaching, and development of Area Managers and their in-field solar sales representatives to become brand champions using provided training tools.
- Conduct long-term and short-term goal setting for national teams and individuals, using data to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues, and enhance performance.
- Own and develop the best relationship with the client; oversee communications and interface with the client, drive the responsiveness to the client(s), cultivate client relations and manage expectations; anticipate client needs and respond with solutions, provide industry knowledge-based client recommendations that add value.
- Assist Senior Leadership with account financials, including but not limited to; account budget, internal billings, and monthly P&L by job and department to achieve GM% goals.
- Direct successful operations of the program, including execution and strategic deployment; drive results to meet client needs; meet program key performance indicators, analyze the tactics via solution development to ensure results are meeting and exceeding goals, and develop processes, tools, and structures to support program operations.
- Collaborate with Client Services, Business Development, and Marketing to ensure services and solutions being developed, applied, and executed correspond with the organization’s goals, reflecting value propositions and competitive pricing.
- Travel nationally up to 50% of the time to support Area Managers and their teams.
- Display a professional demeanor while representing our client and BDS.
- Other responsibilities as requested by management.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Experience and Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- Experience in the solar or renewable energy sector is highly desirable.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in managing people and building and growing a team.
- Minimum 2 years in account management and client relations, functioning in the leadership role
- Minimum 6 years of experience working in a related industry
- Experience in account development and account strategy; preferably within the manufacturer, retail, and/or agency industry.
- Experience in the program lifecycle starting with creating a strategy to the point of tactical execution.
