Position Summary:
The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing and resolving customer accounts with outstanding balances. This role involves direct communication with customers, offering standardized payment plans, and collaborating with internal departments to ensure accurate account reconciliation and timely resolution of delinquent accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contact customers with delinquent accounts to identify solutions and bring accounts into good standing.
  • Assist customers with repayment options utilizing standardized payment plans.
  • Generate, maintain, and monitor aging reports using internal databases.
  • Perform account reconciliations to ensure payment accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with interdepartmental teams including Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to resolve account issues and support seamless communication.
  • Provide regular updates to management on collections status and escalate problematic accounts as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related financial role.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with database systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Ability to perform detailed account reconciliations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Prior experience in interdepartmental communication and collaboration preferred.
