Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Excellent employment opportunity for a Senior Research Associate at Gilead, Oceanside, CA.
- Working Hours: Monday-Friday, (8:00AM-5:00PM, 8:30AM-5:30PM type of business hours)
- Overall: Support in-house sample analysis, functional characterization and assay development activities.
- Perform routine sample analysis supporting comparability and formulation robustness studies, participant cell-based assay development, optimization, and qualification.
- Perform cell-based and flow cytometry analysis to support late-stage biologics projects.
- Plans and executes assigned experiments that support assay development activities and project goals.
- Proactively seeks out senior personnel to discuss potential solutions to problems.
- Participates in group meetings to share test results.
- Demonstrates ability to recognize anomalous and inconsistent results and interpret experimental outcomes.
- Develops skills in data analysis and ability to evaluate quality of data.
- Operates scientific equipment, selects appropriate methods and techniques to perform experiments, and prepare related reports.
- Plan and organize details of experiments with guidance.
- Basic understanding of cell-based methods.
- Experience with cell-based assays and flow cytometry analysis and perform routine maintenance of these instruments.
- Develop flow cytometry, flow imaging assays, and explore new technologies and methodology for viral vector characterization and help develop a robust process for vector production.
- Responsible for data analysis using SoftMax pro software and graphic display of data using Excel and Power Point presentation formats.
- Demonstrate good verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to provide insight into the processes used to achieve results of assigned tasks.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative working environment.
Experience:
- BS or MS degree in a relevant scientific discipline
- Minimum 3+ (MS) or 5+ (BS) years of experience
- Experience with performing cell culture
- Experience working with biologics (proteins, fusion proteins, mAbs)
- Experience with analytical methods such as ELISA, cell binding assay, or reporter assay
- Experience working with antibody drug conjugate (ADC)
- Experience working with virus generation or virus neutralization assay
- Good presentation and documentation (electronic notebook-ELN, testing methods, etc.)
