About the role

Oneida Technical Solutions, LLC (OTS) has a rich history of providing IT support and associated services in highly complex, highly regulated, highly secure environments, including the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), law enforcement, health care, retail, and the casino gaming industry. OTS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Oneida Innovations Group and is the parent company of Croop-LaFrance (CLF), an experienced federal contracting firm.

We are currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a long-term contract slated to start in early 2024.

The Senior Network Engineer will utilize and apply their engineering knowledge and experience to support design, development, integration, test, and verification of networks in support of a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Air Operations Center (AOC) program.


Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user requirements, network requirements specifications, network architecture, and provide network engineering expertise.
  • Develop network architecture and network design documentation.
  • Support network development and implementation planning through assessment of system requirement documents.
  • Provide network engineering support for design, development, integration, test, and verification of highly complex mission-critical systems.
  • Develop design plans using AutoCAD following Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards.
  • Support translation of operational requirements and user needs into functional and technical specifications and development of requirements traceability matrices.
  • Develop, maintain, and track design baselines through configuration control measures.
  • Participate in informal and formal design and engineering reviews.
  • Conduct risk assessments and analyses of alternatives for system components and network design considerations.
  • Incorporate cybersecurity considerations into network design.
  • Adhere to Department of Defense (DoD), US Air Force (USAF), and other industry standards and best practices.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers and stakeholders to generate component and network specifications.
  • Define hardware and software interfaces between systems and subsystems.
  • In collaboration with other engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), support generation of technical documentation including, but not limited to System/Subsystem Design Descriptions (SSDDs), Installation Specifications, Technical Data Packages (TDPs), Preliminary and Critical Designs, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Systems Integration Plan (SIP), Site Preparation Requirements and Installation Plan (SPRIP), Installation Specifications, Technical Reports, Integrated Program Management Data and Analysis Reports (IPMDARs), Test and Evaluation Program Plan (TEPP), Test Procedures, Configuration Audit Plans, Test Procedures, and Test/Inspection Reports.
  • Participate in working groups, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), Integrated Product Team (IPT) Meetings, and Program Reviews as required.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to Training Developers in support of training material development.
  • Support system integration and testing in lab environment CONUS.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working as an engineer for DoD/Military programs.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience with installing and configuring network equipment including firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, etc.
  • Experience supporting network design on large scale DoD/MILCON programs.
  • Experience with network design for Operations Centers/Command Centers.
  • Experience with Command and Control (C2) systems for the US Air Force.
  • Experience with C4I systems, including Audio Visual, Access Control / Intrusion Detection (ACS/IDS), Voice Communications, Link 16, Ground Based Air Defense (GBAD), etc. preferred.
  • Experience with Secure Computing Environments and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.
  • Experience with red/black separation requirements.
  • CCNA or equivalent industry certification.
  • Experience with designing, implementing, and managing network architectures in Google Cloud or comparable cloud environment.
  • Experience with Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls, enterprise-level Cisco switches.
  • Knowledge and understanding of LAN/WAN protocols, VLANs, and router operating systems.
  • Experience with network compliance and hardening.
  • Familiarity with networking and security concepts/capabilities such as TCP/IP stack, routing, switching, DNS, Wireless, 802.1x, etc.
