ROLE OVERVIEW
Pivot Energy is seeking a skilled Grid Integration Engineer with expertise in Transmission and Distribution Power Systems and experience integrating solar renewables to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless integration of solar energy systems into the electrical grid, optimizing performance, and maintaining grid stability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions and overcome technical challenges in renewable energy integration

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless integration of solar energy systems into the electrical grid, optimizing performance, and maintaining grid stability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions and overcome technical challenges in renewable energy integration
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement grid integration strategies for solar energy projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and grid codes.
- Review detailed feasibility studies and technical assessments to evaluate grid impact and optimize system performance. Suggest mitigation methods for Pivot Energy to integrate solar renewable energy into the EDC’s grid.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate grid connection and performance of solar projects. Test plans may include running self-modeled power flow to pre-determine grid impacts during the project origination stage.
- Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure project milestones are met.
- Provide technical expertise and support during project planning, execution, and commissioning phases.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to grid integration and renewable energy
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred / strong Power Systems discipline is preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in power systems analysis (i.e., distribution planning or transmission planning), grid integration teams, preferably in solar renewables.
- Proficiency in grid modeling software (e.g., PSS/E, PSCAD, Cyme, Synergi) and familiarity with industry standards such as IEEE, IEC, and NEC.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues related to grid integration.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven track record of delivering successful projects within budget and schedule constraints.
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Experience with energy storage systems and their integration into solar projects. - Knowledge of energy management systems (EMS) and SCADA systems.
- Sub-transmission (34.5 – 69 kV) and Distribution level (34.5 kV and below) Protection and Control relay settings and coordination
- Familiarity with renewable energy policies, incentives, and regulatory frameworks.
