Job Details:

Purpose

The Lab is in need of an Instructional Lab Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field with upper division biology course work and experience in a biological laboratory setting.

  • Must have a solid understanding of modern molecular and microbiology techniques as well as experience using the equipment commonly found in the modern microbiology laboratory.

  • Experience making solutions.

  • Responsible individual with good judgment and demonstrated interpersonal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work well within a fast-growing team environment and be able to work with minimal daily supervision.

  • Ability to multi-task and be well organized, execute excellent time management skills, and pay careful attention to details, as well as have excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in the biological sciences with coursework in microbiology.

  • Experience working in a BSL-2 laboratory and with aseptic techniques for the study of bacteria.

  • Experience in supervising, training, and delegation of tasks with others in a work setting.

  • Experience procuring and maintaining lab equipment and materials.

  • Experience and knowledge in BSL-2 lab safety protocols and waste disposal.

Salary Range

$42,000+. Negotiable based on experience.

Working Conditions

Basic engineering and/or scientific equipment ordinarily used in college laboratory work. Standard office conditions. May work around chemical fumes, biohazards, chemicals, and electrical and mechanical hazards. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation, use of manual dexterity, climbing of stairs, lifting and moving.

Applicant must be authorized to work in the United States, without employer sponsorship, on a full time basis for any employer. 

Work Shift

Actual schedule will be discussed during interview and will be variable between 8 am and 8 pm with occasional weekend and holiday work. Hours based on need and determined by actual laboratory course scheduling.
