Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Retail Patrol in Weslaco, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more .

As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment at a bustling retail location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the premises, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that arise. This is an armed post, requiring you to carry out your duties with professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility. You will also interact with customers and staff, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding the values of Allied Universal. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and other key areas within the retail environment to help to deter theft, vandalism, and/or other prohibited activities.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of observations, incidents, and/or activities as required by site protocols.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services when necessary, following established protocols.
• Remain alert and aware of surroundings at all times while on duty, adapting to changing conditions within the retail location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Level III Armed Certification is required for Texas roles.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• A Guard Card or License is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
