Job Description

  • During your assignment, you will participate in a study on electromechanically actuated brakes.
  • You will review state of the art methods for optimal experiment design for mechatronic systems with respect to robustness against parameter uncertainties and constraints.
  • Furthermore, you will investigate and develop innovative methods which can be based on classical optimization, reinforcement learning, etc. and your own ideas.
  • Finally, you will evaluate and test your methods on an electromechanical brake actuator in simulation and on real hardware with the goal of robustly estimating control relevant parameters.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master studies in the field of Engineering Cybernetics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics with a strong background in dynamical systems modelling and optimization or comparable
  • Experience and Knowledge: practical experience in modelling mechatronic systems and system identification methods as well as relevant software tools (MATLAB, Simulink and/or Python, Julia, ...), projects on related problems on GitHub or collaboration on published scientific work are nice to have
  • Languages: very good in German and in English written and spoken

Start: according to prior agreement
Duration: 6 months
