Summary of Position: Are you passionate about safeguarding a brand's online image and ensuring its positive perception in the digital realm? We are seeking a skilled and proactive Online Reputation and Community Management Specialist to join our team and take charge of our online reputation management (ORM) efforts. This is a newly formed position and will report directly to the VP, Events & Online Community Management.
Major Responsibilities:
- Community Engagement:

- In online forums, groups, and other digital meeting places, engage with customers and potential customers as an expert on test preparation, admissions, and academic enrichment.
- Represent the brand through positive, supportive, and helpful interactions with the broader online community.
- Monitoring Online Presence:
- Keep a vigilant eye on various online platforms to identify mentions of our brand.
- Utilize monitoring tools to track social media, review sites, and other online channels for brand references.
- Influencing Perceptions:
- Implement strategies to shape and influence how our business is perceived on the internet.
- Develop and execute plans to neutralize negative sentiments and promote positive perceptions of our brand.
- Responding to Reviews:
- Proactively engage with online reviews, both positive and negative, addressing customer feedback promptly and professionally.
- Work to resolve customer complaints and negative feedback to demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Misinformation Correction:
- Identify and correct any misinformation circulating about our business on the internet.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is available online.
- Digital Public Relations (PR):
- Collaborate with various departments to align ORM efforts with broader public relations strategies.
- Focus on defending and preserving the reputation of our brand in the digital space.

Background, Experience, & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- At least one year of professional experience (Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field a plus)
- Experience in online reputation management, digital marketing or related roles a plus.
- Enthusiastic, confident and optimistic demeanor with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- A strong attention to detail, including excellent written communications skills
- Ability to manage your own time and work remotely from your manager, teammates, and clients
- An ethic of personal responsibility; a need to hold yourself accountable on behalf of a team
- Familiarity with social media platforms, review sites, and online monitoring tools.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle sensitive customer issues and navigate online conversations with tact.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to derive insights from online data and customer feedback.
- Experience in test preparation, academic support, or admissions a plus
Salary: $50,000-$66,560 per year, based on a 40 hour work week.
