Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a full-time, in-office position. The incumbent in this position is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of Wakulla County Health Department’s (CHD) properties to maintain a safe and healthy environment for employees, clients, and the public. Incumbent will provide general facility and vehicle maintenance and ensure timely repair services. The incumbent must organize and arrange daily schedule in accordance with routine duties as well as prioritize work orders prepared by staff. A Valid Florida Drivers’ License is required.

• Custodial Duties: Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual duties to maintain cleanliness and appearance throughout all areas of the building, including but not limited to sanitization, stocking of toiletries, sweeping and mopping, cleaning windows, and trash removal. This includes all public areas, restrooms, and/or offices. Performs inventory and maintains adequate supply of all custodial needs for cleaning, grounds keeping, and routine maintenance. Responsible for keeping supply items and tools in an organized manner for accessibility.
• Building/Property Maintenance: Responsible for surveying health department facility for deficientness and needed improvements; makes recommendations relative to repairs or items requiring special purchases. Assemble and install equipment; replace light bulbs and ballast; repair faucets and drains, as needed. Perform maintenance and repairs as needed to include minor electrical work, minor plumbing, moderately complex repairs and carpentry work. Repairs screens, doors, windows, flooring, trim or railing. Perform or oversee on-going painting to interior areas and offices based on need and priority. Replace and clean air conditioner filters, return air ducts, and drain lines. Coordinate with vendors for various repairs as needed. Assists with maintaining internal inventory.
• Assists facilities management in maintaining inventory of all property and tools purchased for use by the facilities staff to execute facilities support. Maintain grounds by keeping outside premises and parking areas clean of debris. Report damages to structure and equipment that require additional repair, moving furniture and equipment, delivering supplies, and running errands as required. Responsible for assisting with renovations and relocating singular office equipment and furniture upon request.
• Assists with loading and unloading of tables, chairs, and equipment for events and activities. Prepares conference room for various meetings and assists as needed for events.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Maintains all vehicles by performing minor repairs and ensuring regular servicing, including but not limited to, monitoring fluid levels and tire pressures, monitoring and scheduling maintenance through appropriate vendors for fluid changes, tire replacement and repairs. Maintains schedule for cleaning of vehicles to include washing, waxing and vacuuming. Performs vehicle detailing as requested. Maintains record of vehicle maintenance in logbook. Ensures vehicles are adequately fueled and equipped for events and/or activations as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of the operation of various systems including fire alarm system. 
• Knowledge of use of proper tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written.
• Ability and knowledge of minor solutions to basic maintenance repairs, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Ability to maintain organization, detailed cleaning, and track inventory.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Qualifications:
Minimum - Valid Florida Driver's License, Must be able to complete all custodial duties without restrictions, must be able to work outside for duties as assigned.

Preferred - Experience with minor maintenance repairs with use of proper tools, experience with detailed cleaning of spaces.
