Mission: The Mission of St. PJ's Children's Home is to be a safe and loving refuge for children in crisis and to accompany them on their journey to healing and wholeness, breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect one child at a time.


Summary: Under the general direction of the PSA Compliance Manager, the Program Specialist is responsible for the preparation and oversight of monitoring activities to include quarterly monitoring visits, DCPI investigations, and the like.  The Program Specialist should be knowledgeable with the rules and regulations of regulatory programs, contract requirements, agency policies and procedures, and the ORR code of conduct. In preparation for monitoring activities, the Program Specialist will conduct internal audits of case files, contractor files and personnel files as well as maintain awareness of policy changes and/or field guidance as it pertains to service provision to ensure program updates are made accordingly.  This position supports the PSA Compliance Manager, the Assistant Program Director, and Program Director.


Position Responsibilities:

  • *Perform regular case file reviews, monthly, quarterly and at randomly;
  • *Follow grantors case file check lists and monitoring tools provided by the agency and or the assigned program’s  funder to ensure programs are following their policies and contracts;
  • *Regularly review program requirements, contracts, plan of operations, and stay informed of policy changes and revisions;
  • *Keep record of case files reviewed, documenting errors found and corrections made;
  • *Assist with reviewing contractor and personnel/training files. 
  • Monitoring case files internally and its procedures amongst assigned programs.
  • Actively participating in the enhancement and/or improvement of the living and working environment for residents and employees;
  • Attending administrative staff meetings, staff retreats, and other team building activities as scheduled;
  • Other duties as assigned by PSA Compliance, Program Director or Assistant Program Director.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Education
    • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral sciences, human services or social service field. 
  • Experience
    • Minimum of _1___ year experience working with child welfare standards, best practices and compliance.  
  • License and Credentials
    • Reliable transportation
    • Valid driver license
    • Valid vehicle insurance
  • Able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route if working directly with      unaccompanied children;

o Varicella: two doses of varicella vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart) OR born in the United States before 1980 with a reported history of chickenpox (verified by an adult present at the time of illness) OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from healthcare provider verifying previous infection.

o MMR: two doses of MMR vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart) OR titers indicating immunity to all three diseases

o DTaP or DTap: Complete primary vaccination series. If primary vaccination series completed in childhood, one DTaP dose in adulthood.

o Influenza: one dose annually during flu season.
