Project Architect

Description

This is a full-time, direct placement role at Thomas Architects.

We are seeking an extraordinary Project Architect for our Architecture Firm. The ideal person will have a extensive technical understanding of construction combined with a true desire for creative and thoughtful problem solving.

The ability to manage multiple project schedules and deadlines, and effective communication with staff, consultants and clients are essential to the position.

Responsibilities:

• Design - provide thoughtful and creative design solutions through an iterative design process involving careful listening and seeking balance between relevant design constraints
• Construction Documents - create accurate and thorough technical documents, including incorporation of all relevant consultant documents in order to provide a clear roadmap to the construction of the project including critical design elements
• Client Communication - effectively and regularly communicate graphically, orally and in written format with clients so that they have a clear understanding of the project, constraints and timeline
• Project Management - develop project budget and monitor project progress, including oversight of project members, to ensure projects are delivered timely and professionally
• Professional Development - constantly seek to improve one’s technical abilities, construction knowledge, understanding of building and zoning codes, and internal company processes so as to deliver thoughtful projects in an exceptional manner
• Code Research – continuous review of local zoning ordinances and building codes so as to minimize design changes in the Construction Documents Phase
• Design Research – appreciation of various design styles along with in depth study of Client’s aesthetics so as to prepare design solutions the encapsulate the Client’s values
• Collaboration – a strong willingness to assist other staff and accept constructive criticism and assistance from others so as to ensure a unified client experience

Requirements

Preferred

• Licensure
• Strong background in

- Medium or High End Residential;

- Multi-Family Residential;

- Commercial working including office interiors, dental offices, retail or automotive

Required

• Strong desire to continue their personal development
• Accredited professional degree in Architecture
• Superb written and verbal communication skills including a comfort with direct client interaction
• 3 years minimum relevant Architectural Experience, including all aspects of architectural services
• 3 years minimum relevant experience with Revit
• Working knowledge of Enscape
• Natural willingness to assist others
