About the role

This highly visible role will oversee a wide range of initiatives—from planning and communications to budget management and critical program execution. You will help shape team strategy, manage operational cadence, resolve cross-functional blockers, and lead business transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate is a trusted advisor, capable of turning vision into action and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, high-performing Chief of Staff to support the leadership and operational excellence of our Data Center Infrastructure (DCI) organization. This role is pivotal in driving strategic alignment, executing high-priority initiatives, and enhancing cross-functional operations. The Chief of Staff will work across Planning, Running the Business, and Organizational Effectiveness domains—ensuring clarity, efficiency, and execution at scale.

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Collaborate with DCI leadership to define annual goals, organizational priorities, and strategic initiatives that align with team capabilities and long-term vision.
  • Lead and facilitate organizational planning cycles (quarterly and semi-annual), ensuring staff-level alignment with leadership direction and business outcomes.
  • Translate high-level strategies into team-level roadmaps and clearly articulated charters that empower staff to operate with purpose and direction.
  • Identify areas where teams need clarity, resourcing, or coordination—working across functions to close gaps and reduce friction.
  • Support leadership by preparing materials, context, and pre-read packages that enable better strategic conversations and faster decision-making.

Operational Leadership

  • Own the rhythm of business to ensure the team operates efficiently and stays connected to leadership priorities—managing Weekly Business Reviews (WBR), Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews (MBR/QBR), Staff Meetings, and All Hands.
  • Serve as a trusted liaison between senior leadership and staff, translating priorities into tangible actions, tracking follow-through, and providing consistent feedback loops.
  • Ensure team-wide visibility into org performance by managing dashboards, communications, and feedback channels.
  • Monitor team health and operational posture, surfacing risks, concerns, or opportunities for support to leadership in a timely, actionable manner.
  • Foster collaboration across sub-teams by facilitating structured updates, joint working sessions, and issue resolution discussions.

Organizational Effectiveness

  • Manage talent operations, including support for TRBs, promotions, onboarding, and development programs that help grow and retain top talent.
  • Partner with HR, Recruiting, and Finance to drive effective headcount planning and resource deployment that supports staff growth and role clarity.
  • Codify internal practices that improve team effectiveness—such as decision-making models, communication norms, and ownership frameworks.
  • Establish lightweight, scalable processes for escalations, RCAs, and SLAs that improve service quality and reduce recurring pain points for staff.
  • Act as an advocate for staff needs and effectiveness—bringing visibility to blockers, culture gaps, or structural issues that inhibit team performance.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in business operations, infrastructure, strategy, or chief of staff roles.
  • Demonstrated success managing cross-functional programs at scale in a high-growth or global technology organization.
  • Experience with headcount and budget planning, organizational design, and process improvement.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking; comfortable with ambiguity and systems-level problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data center operations, enterprise infrastructure, or cloud technologies is a plus.
