Team Overview: IQVIA’s Integrated Health Platform (IHP) is a modern data backbone that enables evolving integration of patient-generated data over time. It supports patient, product, and natural history registries, as well as long-term follow-up (LTFU) in life science studies1. The IHP team focuses on developing and maintaining this platform, ensuring its scalability, security, and usefulness for healthcare analytics and research.
Job Summary: Lead segment/domain-specific innovation and technology strategy in the Integrated Health Practice, including: market research sizing and scoping; development proposals; and maintenance of strategic recommendations and direction across relevant regions, technology platforms, products, and accounts (~50%).
- Provide subject matter expertise to Practice teams, including but not limited to: Go-to-Market, Account Management, Product Management, Project Management/Delivery, Engineering, and Operations (~40%).
- Provide expert Registry Solution consulting to prospective IHP customers during early engagement phases (~10%).
Responsibilities: The Segment Strategy Lead (SSL) is an essential cross-functional role in the Integrated Health Practice. SSLs are responsible for advancing practice-wide strategic goals across three primary areas, each of which directly or indirectly impacts revenue:
- Research, drafts, and maintains strategic planning documentation
- Provides expert guidance to IHP Product, GTM, Delivery, and Engineering teams
- Delivers paid solution consulting to prospective IHP registry customers
Essential Functions
- Market Definition – Partner with IQVIA and/or 3rd party GTM resources to investigate, research and/or confirm strategic assertions related to market-sizing, competition, and competitor capabilities, and align information to segment/domain-specific recommendations. Sub-segments may be necessary for this domain. Regionalization is critical and necessary along with the identify of gaps.
- Competency Definition – Research, synthesize, and present domain-specific recommendations on essential practice competencies, including market, region, competitor, and technology considerations, to drive practice growth.
- Product-Market Fit – Support regular evaluation of market opportunities and maintenance of product-level SWOT analyses
- Product Strategy – Support translation of product-market fit opportunities into product-level requirements and partners with Product Management, GTM, and segment teams to ensure interpretation is understood to be executed upon
- Solution Consulting – Directly supports and/or lead early-phase consulting projects with prospective IHP customers, sometimes in collaboration with other IQVIA teams
- Sales Enablement – Support and/or inform sales engineering needs and incorporate feedback into relevant strategy; where appropriate, engages in consulting on unique client needs as aligned to product and technology strategy
- Thought Leadership – Develops and evangelizes demonstrable expertise in direct market factors and adjacencies; participates in industry conferences (podium talks and panels), supports and/or authors white papers and manuscripts; engages globally with GBU’s and RBU’s in thought leadership
Experience
- Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
- Demonstrable experience in one or more roles requiring strategic planning
- Demonstrable experience and/or familiarity with key [segment] concepts and customer personas
- Demonstrable experience in one or more roles requiring autonomous decision making
- Demonstrable experience in one or more roles requiring technical or persuasive writing
- Management Consulting or similar client-facing consulting experience
Knowledge
- Experienced-to-Expert in organizational and product strategy methodologies
- Experienced-to-Expert in key [segment] concepts and customer personas
- Familiar with global healthcare data standards and care delivery practices
- Familiar with real-world / observational research paradigms
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
