This announcement will maintain a pool of qualified applicants for Communications, English, Spanish, and French Instructors. Submission of an application and our acceptance thereof does not indicate that there are positions open, and in no way obligates Northwest MS Community College.
Applicants may indicate an interest in part-time positions for Northwest Mississippi Community College for all campus locations: Senatobia (Main Campus), Oxford, and Desoto.
MANDATORY: A Master’s Degree with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in the specific subject area is required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaches courses related to subject matter.
- Prepare, administer, and grade periodic tests, assignments, and/or program assessment data.
- Maintain a student attendance record as required by the Mississippi Community College Board.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attends adjunct faculty meetings and professional development workshops and training.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to take initiative to solve problems.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Experience using technology including email, word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software, and Internet use.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact tactfully and courteously with students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
- Ability to collaborate with others and work as part of a team.
- Demonstrate oral and written communication skills to interact with a wide range of diverse individuals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the Instructor regularly required to do the following:
- Travel between campuses and a flexible schedule may be required, including some evenings, weekends, and extended hours to meet department needs.
- Stand for long periods
- Talk, hear, view, and assist students
- Communicate with others in person, telephone, zoom, & live chat
- Sit, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms
- Stand, walk, stoop, or kneel
- Occasionally lift and/or move items of at least 15-20 pounds
