$47.55 - $72.65 Hourly

The normal starting pay for this position is the minimum of the pay range listed above. A higher rate of pay may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant and/or the City’s step placement policy.

POSITION DESIGNATION

DEPARTMENTAL INFORMATION

This position is located at OKC Will Rogers International Airport. The Airport Maintenance Superintendent is a key leadership role responsible for leading, managing and supervising technical and professional personnel and major resources to ensure the safe, continuous, and efficient operation of commercial airport facilities and infrastructure. This role involves planning, scheduling, and overseeing all maintenance activities, including airfield, terminal, buildings, fuel storage facilities, motorized equipment, and grounds maintenance. The ideal candidate will have specialized knowledge, experience and background in airport maintenance, facilities management, and operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations and airport safety standards and requires availability for 24/7 operational needs. The incumbent reports directly to the Assistant Director of Airports.

JOB SUMMARY

This job is located in the Support and Technical Operations Division of the Airports Department within the City of Oklahoma City and is under the direction of the Department Director or Assistant Director. The Airport Maintenance Superintendent is primarily responsible for managing and directing activities of a major work division. The Airport Maintenance Division consists of clerical, technical, and professional staff who maintain the airport's runways, taxiways, motorized equipment, grounds, fuel storage, and buildings, including the main terminal. Work is reviewed for program accomplishments, management effectiveness, and adherence to policies, procedures, and directives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assigning, prioritizing, and monitoring work projects.
  • Developing and managing budgets, goals and objectives of the work unit.
  • Assisting in the development of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Reviewing work products and making improvements to work methods and procedures.
  • Analyzing bids from contractors to determine the best supplier.
  • Reviewing federal, state, and local standards and regulations to ensure compliance with applicable legal and policy guidelines.
  • Monitoring operational expenditures.
  • Developing and implementing divisional productivity improvement measures.
