About the role

AVER is seeking a Lead Automation Consultant, an individual contributor who will manage automation projects within a directorate of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Responsibilities Include:

Self motivated individual contributor who will manage automation projects to include working knowledge of Power Apps and Power BI platforms
Partner with business SME’s and stakeholders to understand business challenges and requirements
Establish and lead enterprise-wide, cross functional strategic initiatives
Lead a variety of different types of projects including launching new products and services, large-scale application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and infrastructure upgrades and deployments
Support continuous improvement plans
Plan, schedule, coordinate, and monitor all phases of the project
Manage scope of the project to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed parameters
Define and track project milestones and report upwards for escalation
Ability to work in complex business scenarios and in a cross functional team setting
Support various business functional stakeholders to achieve the highest benefit on projects
Self directed with little instruction on day to day work and general instructions on new assignments

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree required

Experience Requirements:

8+ years of experience working in the areas related to automation projects
3+ years of working experience within the Federal government in areas related to automation projects
Experience in managing automation projects on Power Apps
Experience in working with various project management tools and exposure to navigate through quality gates for release of projects
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Project
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate cross-functionally with a desire to work as part of a global team
Strong work ethic, adaptive, able to meet tight deadlines without much supervision

Desired Requirements:

Certification in project management
Exposure to new tools & technology on the Microsoft platform

Location:

REMOTE (Local to Washington, DC)

Security Requirements:

Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust)
This role supports a government agency which requires U.S. citizenship
