Job Description:

Summary:

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is looking for personable and informed students to join our ambassador program to assist with the recruitment efforts. The ambassador’s primary role is to give 3-5 tours a week to prospective students and parents while giving an authentic glimpse of the AU experience by sharing personal encounters as students

Essential Functions:

  • The ambassador’s primary role is to give 3-5 tours a week to prospective students and parents while giving an authentic glimpse of the AU experience by sharing personal encounters as students.

  • Additional responsibilities may also include staffing in-person and virtual events such as: admissions information sessions, Showcase AU, Preview Day, webinars, and other events.

  • Ambassadors will also correspond with prospective and admitted students via email or in-person answering their questions about student life at AU.

Salary Range:

  • $17.50- $18.00 per hour.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • 20 hours per week.

  • This job position is restricted to current/enrolled American University undergraduate students only.

  • Part-Time.

  • Work-Study.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • We are looking for energetic students that are involved in various activities on campus.

  • Our ambassadors are passionate about AU, are leaders on campus and are eager to share their AU experiences with various audiences.

  • The ambassadors program strives to foster an inclusive community that recognizes diverse identities and interests both in and out of the program.

  • All AU Ambassadors are required to undergo a background check conducted by American University’s Police Department.

  • Your admission into the AU Ambassadors Program is contingent upon a successful completion of a background check.
