Purpose

Responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing merchandise for dining service and housing operations within Housing and Dining.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, tag, rotate, and properly store delivered merchandise in accordance with health code standards and Housing and Dining.

  • Distribute merchandise to internal locations.

  • Assist in weekly inventory and ordering.

  • Maintain proper cleaning sanitation standards in the work area including freezers and coolers. Maintain cleanliness of facility.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduation, GED, or vocational school.

  • Six months experience in receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for property in stores or warehouse unit.

  • Six months of experience in stock handling and/or maintaining records.

  • Ability to complete and maintain University Housing and Dining Food Safety Training and/or ServSafe 

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • More than six months of experience in stock handling, maintaining records, receiving, storing, handling, and issuing food and food service supplies.

  • Ability to multi-task and work with little supervision. 

  • Demonstrated ability to receive, respond, and follow through with written and oral University and Housing and Food policies, procedures, and work-related instructions and requests from supervisors, customers, and co-workers.

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.  Professional demeanor and ability to work with staff and customer base.

Salary Range

$37,440 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished)

  • May work in extreme temperatures

  • May work around chemicals

  • Use of manual dexterity

  • Climbing of stairs

  • Climbing of ladders

  • Lifting and moving

  • Standing for extended periods of time

  • Pushing, pulling, and moving up to 92 pounds

  • Lifting and moving up to 80 pounds

  • The successful candidate will be required to successfully complete testing for strength and agility prior to employment
