Hiring Now – Immediate need for General Production - Mirrors Dept.

 

American Building Supply (ABS), a subsidiary of Jeld Wen, and one of the Nation’s largest wholesale suppliers of Doors, Door Hardware, Windows, and Millwork, currently has a position available for General Production to assist our Distribution Division in providing value-added goods and services to our customers.

JELD-WEN is one of the world’s largest door and window manufacturers, with more than 22,000 employees operating in 24 countries globally. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, JELD-WEN designs, produces and distributes an extensive range of interior and exterior doors, wood, vinyl and aluminum windows.

General description of duties:

• Preparation of material/making sure everything matches order
• Place mirror panel onto panel assembly table with mirror side facing down
• Inspect all product for quality
• Place track against the measuring wall and measuring stop
• Must know how to use pneumatic hammer
• Must know how to use drill gun
• Face shield required at times
• Must know how to use saws and be familiar with various blade types
• Must be delicate and know how to handle glass
• File down sharp edges with filer
• Once mirror is cut, use safety blade to remove mirror back film
• Material preparation and material handling
• Staging and packaging finished product or delivery
• Other general warehouse duties as needed
• Must be able to operate a forklift

 

Additional duties may include:

• Maintain a safe work environment
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and repeatedly
• Must be willing to work some overtime hours
• Must be able to read tape measure efficiently
• Must be willing to adjust to different work assignments
• Must have knowledge of basic power tool usage: (Staple gun, cordless drill, chop saw, etc.)
• Must be willing to work overtime when necessary

Previous experience in a distribution or similar environment is preferred, but not required.
