Job Overview

The Assistant Dean of Recruitment and Enrollment is expected to provide strategic leadership for student recruitment and enrollment initiatives within the College of Arts and Sciences. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of recruitment strategies in the Higher Education landscape including marketing strategies to promote the College’s visibility and appeal. The Assistant Dean of Recruitment and Enrollment will be responsible for coordinating with institutional partners and community stakeholders.  Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean, this role is housed in the Division of Student Success and Access and works in close collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Advising and Retention.

  • Collaboration: Strong ability to work with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and community partners. 
  • Data-Driven Approach: Proficient in using analytics to inform decisions and evaluate the success of strategies. 
  • Leadership: Effective supervision and development of staff to foster a high-performing team. 

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy to meet the College’s enrollment goals.  
  • Formulate, recommend, approve, and implement internal procedures and controls. Set goals to achieve strategic objectives. Explain and interpret college/program policies, procedures, and academic requirements. 
  • Analyze enrollment trends, market data, and demographics to identify growth opportunities and inform recruitment efforts.  
  • Keep abreast of current trends in student recruitment and technological advances in marketing and communications. 
  • Collaborate with the central Office of Admissions to align College-specific recruitment initiatives with university-wide strategies. 
  • Create and oversee the development of content for recruitment campaigns, ensuring messaging resonates with audiences, including prospective students, families, and high school counselors. 
  • Collaborate with the College’s communications team to design engaging and targeted marketing materials, including print, digital, and social media campaigns. 
  • Create and oversee marketing strategies to promote the College’s academic programs, student opportunities, and overall brand. 
  • Supervise recruitment staff, including the Director of Recruitment, Assistant Director of Recruitment, and Admissions Counselors.

  • Oversee recruitment events such as open houses, college fairs, admitted student days, and high school visits. 
  • Work closely with academic departments to showcase program strengths and integrate faculty into recruitment efforts. 
  • Partner with faculty, advisors, and other College leaders to ensure recruitment efforts are well-coordinated and effectively transition students into academic programs. 
  • Serve as the College’s representative on university committees related to recruitment, enrollment, and marketing.  
  • Monitor and assess recruit
