WORKING TITLE: Government Operations Consultant II
This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office, in Tallahassee, FL, in Programs and Re-Entry.
The mission of Programs and Re-Entry at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to provide comprehensive rehabilitative programs and services that prepare inmates for successful reintegration into society. The Programs and Re-Entry office is dedicated to supporting inmates in their transition from incarceration to becoming productive, law-abiding citizens.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Track Education and Employment Outcomes: Monitor participation and outcomes for adult education, career and technical education, post-release employment, and secondary academic achievements for students under Title I, Part D, and AEFL Grants.
- Manage Financial Records: Maintain expense spreadsheets, track purchasing, act as a Requester in MFMP, and keep inventory records of equipment and software for Title I and AEFL programs.
- Support ESL and Career Pathways: Track participation and outcomes for Title I students in ESL programs and Career Pathways and assist with the implementation of new grant-funded programs.
- Conduct Site Visits and Audits: Assist with site visits and field audits of Title I programs, prepare related correspondence, clear P-card charges, and support field staff with data entry.
- Develop and Deliver Training: Research evidence-based practices, prepare Career Pathways training materials, and conduct statewide training at Title I institutions.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must be a Florida Certified Contract Manager or be willing to earn certification within six months of hire.
- Must possess experience with monitoring federal grants and budgets.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License.
- Must possess a bachelors degree;
- Or 4 years of experience handling grants.
