This role will lead this important work through influence inspiring and engaging our employees through nuanced storytelling that elevates the voices of our diverse workforce. Our ideal candidate has a genuine passion for and prior expertise in both diversity work and communications, and can navigate complex, sensitive and fast moving topics with agility and care. Reporting to employee communications, you’ll partner closely with our Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging team in HR and work with senior stakeholders across our business to craft stories and messaging that connect our employees to our strategy. In addition, you’ll network to keep a pulse on what’s top of mind for our employees and use those insights to create community and experiences that help employees feel connected and inspired.
Responsibilities
- Drive global employee communications strategy and tactics to support diversity, inclusion and belonging goals
- Coordinate with a broad set of teams (HR, corporate communications, global Employee Resource Groups) to write impactful stories, executive talking points and coordinated message platforms for use across the company and on the platform
- Act as a strategic communications advisor to LinkedIn’s Global Head of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, and other key business leaders
- Support successful employee communications tied to key company initiatives, programs and events
- Partner with communicators and leaders at all levels to ensure diversity, inclusion and belonging messaging is scaled across all global functions and teams
- Manage proactive and reactive issue communications related to diversity, inclusion and belonging in coordination with internal and external communications teams
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of employee communications experience
- 3 + years of relevant experience in communications working with diversity, inclusion and belonging initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing diversity communications strategy and executing high-impact diversity communications tactics and/or working on diversity programs end-to-end, with an ability to multitask, jumpstart new projects and initiatives and inspire cooperation at all levels of the organization
- Proven ability to develop communications strategy and drive tactical execution across multiple communication disciplines and channels
- Ability to advise and influence senior leaders on communications approach and messaging
- An excellent writer, comfortable with writing for the ear and the eye, and experienced in guiding communications through stakeholder reviews on deadline and with flair
- Experience in analyzing and managing communications for issues related to corporate reputation and trust
- Skilled at navigating sensitive issues with trust and care while providing strategic communications counsel
- Experience navigating complex organizations and working with cross-functional teams
- Comfortable interacting and consulting with senior executives across the organization
