Senior BI Engineer

LazyDays RV is currently undergoing a migration from MS SQL Server to Azure Data Lakes. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Azure Data Lakes Migration Specialist to join our team and support the successful transition of our data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, expertise in Azure Data Lakes, and experience with MS SQL Server migration projects. Role and Responsibilities:

1. Design and execute the migration plan: Collaborate with the data engineering team and stakeholders to develop a comprehensive migration plan from MS SQL Server to Azure Data Lakes. Ensure the migration plan adheres to best practices, industry standards, and LazyDays RV's requirements.

2. Data extraction and transformation: Extract data from the existing MS SQL Server databases, transform it as per the Azure Data Lakes schema, and load it into the Azure Data Lakes environment. Implement efficient data extraction and transformation processes, optimizing for performance and data integrity.

3. Data validation and quality assurance: Develop and execute data validation procedures to ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the migration process. Implement quality assurance measures to identify and resolve any data issues or inconsistencies.

4. Troubleshooting and problem resolution: Monitor the migration process, proactively identify issues, and troubleshoot any challenges that may arise. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues promptly and efficiently.

5. Documentation and knowledge sharing: Create comprehensive documentation of the migration process, including procedures, guidelines, and best practices. Conduct knowledge sharing sessions with the data engineering team and stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition and enable self-sufficiency post-migration.

6. Security and compliance: Ensure data security and compliance with regulatory requirements during the migration process. Implement appropriate security measures and data protection mechanisms to safeguard LazyDays RV's sensitive information.

Required Skills:

1. Strong experience in data management and migration projects, preferably involving MS SQL Server to Azure Data Lakes migration.

2. Proficiency in Azure Data Lakes and related technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Storage.

3. Expertise in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.

4. Solid understanding of database concepts, SQL, and data modeling.

5. Familiarity with cloud-based architectures, specifically Microsoft Azure.

6. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex data-related issues and provide effective solutions.

7. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

Preferred Skills:

1. Certification in Microsoft Azure or related technologies.

2. Experience with other data migration tools and technologies.

3. Knowledge of data governance practices and data lifecycle management.

Education Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
