QA Engineering Manager

The Opportunity

As the QA Engineering Manager at Brightflag, you will be responsible for leading a talented team of QA engineers, driving the strategic direction of our QA processes, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to establish best practices, implement testing methodologies, and contribute to the overall success of our platform.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead, develop and engage a team of manual QA Engineers
• Drive high performance and direct team members to obtain the best results
• Accomplish key product quality objectives for releases
• Develop and implement a comprehensive test strategy aligned with product goals
• Collaborate with product managers and development teams to define test plans, scope, and priorities
• Drive the continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Participate in release planning and coordinate testing efforts with development and deployment timelines
• Partner with Developers and QA Automation teams to support automation and CI/CD targets for regression testing.
• Evangelise a strong quality culture within the QA and Engineering teams

 

Skills & Experience

To be successful in the role, you need:

• Proven experience in a QA leadership role with a track record of successfully managing and developing QA teams
• Ability to see the big picture, create and execute plans and think critically about implementing strategy
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems & troubleshoot
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and processes including efficiencies & strategies
• Demonstrated self-starter with ability to take direct steps to ensuring Product quality within team
• Growth mindset in QA (reporting, troubleshooting, specalized testing.)
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and,agile methodologies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience testing Web Applications, REST API web services
• Experience with industry Product & Test Management systems (Jira, Confluence, etc)
• Good database knowledge & SQL skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
