Service Specialist

Job Purpose

Position Overview:

The role of the Repair and Service Specialist is to perform teardown, inspection, repair, and documentation of gearboxes. The Repair and Service Specialist will work within the guidelines, established by the leadership team of the Repair and Service sector.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures at all times.  Develop and maintain safe habits and practices with regard to safety requirements.
• Read and review blueprints, plans, specifications, and other documentation to understand the operation of the gearboxes and how they are properly assembled and maintained.
• Work with Engineering, Project Management, spare parts, and management groups to complete repairs and resolve problems.
• Accurately and properly document and record as found conditions during the disassembly and repair processes.
• Maintains hand tools and other related equipment which is used to make necessary repairs. Ensure all are calibrated in good working order to Dana’s ISO requirements.
• Assist the estimation department with recommended spare parts and wear parts.
• Must be self-motivated with ability to work and think well independently.
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
• Must maintain valid driver’s license and must be able to drive a forklift.
• Must be able to use a computer for creation of reports and required data entry.
• Must be able to use a smartphone and any related applications required for the position.
• Must wear furnished uniform and maintain clean and professional appearance while working with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
• Performs other duties as directed by assigned supervisor or management personnel.
