About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY:
University Health and Counseling Services at Northeastern University seeks a full-time physician with enthusiasm and excitement to provide high-quality, empathetic medical care to a large and diverse undergraduate and graduate population.
This full-time position (35 hours/week) includes one Saturday per month, one evening per week, occasional holiday hours, and on-call assignments. A four or five-day workweek is acceptable.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Providing outstanding clinical care to the University's student population through the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of illness in accordance with current standard of care
- Practicing continuity of care through appropriate and timely assessment, treatment; follow-up and referral
- Providing clinical supervision and support to medical staff within the UHCS service model
- Helping ensure compliance of the Health Center's medical care with all applicable standards of practice in MA
- Providing on-site and on-call clinical supervision to NP/PA staff
- Participating in developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives on the medical service
- Demonstrating best practice, consistent student-focus, and efficiency of time and resources.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires M.D. or D.O from an accredited medical or osteopathic institution
Require current MA State MD license and DEA registration
Must be board certified or eligible in Family Medicine, Pediatrics and/or Internal Medicine
Experience in Primary Care, Reproductive Health and Acute Care, and STI and Contraceptive Management
Demonstrated promptness in reporting and documentation; Excellent organizational skills;
Ability to work with confidential and time sensitive information and materials
